My name is Mrs. Ricenbaw and I am starting my ninth year of teaching at Friend Public Schools. My path to teaching was a bit non-traditional but well worth it. In 2006, I graduated from Doane College with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology. Then, in 2013, I decided to return to Doane and enrolled in the Accelerated Teaching Program to obtain a teaching certificate in special education, K-12. After an intense 14 months, I completed the program and accepted the 7-12 resource teacher position at Friend Public Schools. I have my master's in Curriculum and Instruction and am currently taking classes to continue journey as a life-long learner. In addition to teaching, I am the junior class sponsor.
My husband, Greg, and I have two girls, Keila (17), and Miley (14). In my free time, I enjoy reading and camping with my family.
